The Launch of BLU 131: Our Custom RO-RO Pontoon Design for DP World

The floating establishment measuring 26 meters in length and 22 meters in breadth will be the key factor of new RO-RO terminal in the Port of Constanta.

We are happy to announce the official launch of the BLU 131 RO-RO Pontoon, a custom Blue Lines design solution for DP World Constanta. The floating establishment measuring 26 meters in length and 22 meters in breadth will be the key factor of new RO-RO terminal in the Port of Constanta.

Our design was customized to integrate with the existing quay infrastructure, without the need for costly modifications to the quay design. At the same time, our engineers have taken into account the possibility of use in other areas by sizing the ballast installation accordingly.

The transfer ramp measuring 30 meters allows for a transfer load of up to 114 tons, providing safe conditions for the unloading of trucks from Ro-Pax ships to the quay. Additionally, the Blue Lines design considered adverse weather conditions such as wind, snow, and ice, ensuring reliable performance throughout the year.

Our custom yet flexible pontoon solution was designed to avoid unnecessary costs and support the client’s operations, which they reported to reach up to 80.000 vehicles annually.

The Blue Lines team is delighted to have contributed such an essential part to DP World’s plan of expanding in Romania, opening up our country to new markets and commercial opportunities.
