Strategically located near the southern breakwater, this system expands the port’s operational capabilities, providing flexibility and reliability to one of Romania’s key maritime hubs. Designed to support the safe and efficient operation of Panamax-class vessels up to 70,000 DWT, it represents an important upgrade to the port’s infrastructure.
As the maritime sector evolves, ports require innovative solutions to meet fluctuating cargo volumes and operational demands. Recognizing these needs, our team designed an MBM system that provides a versatile mooring alternative, facilitating direct transshipment between barges and seagoing vessels.
The system includes 2 robust mooring buoys, each 5 meters in diameter, equipped with quick-release hooks for efficient and secure line handling. It allows vessels to load or unload cargo directly within the port basin, optimizing turnaround times and reducing potential delays.
By reducing reliance on traditional quays and expanding mooring capacity, the MBM system ensures uninterrupted operations during peak seasons and specialized campaigns such as agricultural exports.
This project represents a unique addition to the Blue Lines portfolio, reflecting our expanding expertise while reaffirming our commitment to designing innovative maritime solutions that address real-world challenges.
