November marked the launch, testing and delivery of the inland pilot boat Rebeca, built based on our BLU 149 design. Rebeca already stands out in Romania’s fleet through efficiency and speed, a testament to our innovative design and the workmanship of Electroscoica Mar, our trusted collaborator in aluminum vessel construction and more.
During trials, the pilot boat surpassed the performance standards set by its operator, impressing through precise maneuverability, reliability and a modern, sleek design.
At 16.07 meters in length, it is equipped to transport up to 8 pilots and 2 crew members, ensuring smooth and timely operations. We chose to add twin diesel engines producing a combined 1.060 kW, which work in harmony with the streamlined hull design to enable speeds of up to 60 km/h.
BLU 149’s capabilities make it an ideal asset for the Romanian fleet of pilot boats operating on the maritime Danube. The new boat will ensure safe transfers of pilots to and from vessels, even under difficult weather conditions, during both day and night.
The inland pilot boat BLU 149 is the latest in a series of advanced workboat designs Blue Lines has delivered. Its predecessors, such as the BLU 139 and BLU 143, have already demonstrated their reliability and value in challenging environments.
These projects reflect our commitment to creating vessels that elevate both maritime and inland operations, ensuring that pilots can perform their critical roles in a safe and efficient manner. We look forward to contributing modern solutions that support the evolution of Romania’s fleet for years to come.
