The BLU 149 Inland Pilot Boat is crafted to guarantee the secure transfer of pilots to and from vessels, maintaining optimal safety even in adverse weather conditions, both during the day and at night. Like other pilot boats, it has to come alongside much larger ships to embark and disembark pilots, so stable handling and a robust hull are central to its design.

With a streamlined aluminium hull and powerful twin diesel engines rated at 530 kW each, the boat achieves remarkable maneuverability and can exceed 60 km/h. It carries a crew of two together with up to eight pilots on inland waterways.
